Why can't I upload using my Facebook link?

If you're having trouble uploading a video using your Facebook link, the most common issue is using a share link instead of the direct video link that our system requires.

The Problem

Facebook generates different types of links for videos:

  • Share links - These are shortened or modified URLs designed for sharing
  • Direct video links - These point directly to the video file itself

Our upload system requires the direct video link to properly process your Facebook video.

The Solution

To get the correct Facebook video link, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to your video - Go to the video on your Facebook page
  2. Set Privacy to Public - Ensure that your video is set to public so we can fetch it
  3. Open the video directly - Click on the video itself to open it in its own window/tab
  4. Copy the direct URL - Copy the URL from your browser's address bar when viewing just that video
  5. Verify the format - The URL should look something like: https://www.facebook.com/YourChurchName/videos/123456789

Step-by-Step Visual Guide

Try Again

Once you have the correct direct video link in the proper format, return to the upload page and try uploading again. The system should now be able to process your Facebook video successfully.
